Toronto SEO Expert: Why Your Small Business Needs One

Certified Toronto SEO Expert for Your Small Business

If you are a small to medium sized business owner and wonder how you can get ahead of the larger corporations in terms of SEO and local searches you simply need to employ the services of a Toronto SEO expert. A Toronto SEO expert can guide you through all you’ll need to consider when going up against the competition in your local markets. There certainly are a ton of “SEO experts” out there. Some may know what they’re doing, and others may not, some may have qualifications and others will not. There are a few key things to look at when hiring a Toronto SEO expert.

Is SEO the right tactic for your company?

Is SEO Right for Your company?

Believe it or not I have actually turned down business because I have found that SEO cannot help certain businesses, however these are far and few between. The best way for an SEO expert to do this is conduct a cost-benefit analysis. Does the cost of conducting SEO for a period of one year bring back an equal or greater amount of return on your investment. If the cost of your customer or product is too low then you may need to re-visit your pricing structure.

The next thing to look at is if there is enough volume of people searching for what you have to offer, and are these searches happening online? The best way to calculate the cost benefit analysis is to start with the question does the cost of doing SEO bring back an equal or greater return on investment? A good Toronto SEO consultant can establish that for your company fairly quickly by doing some keyword research in your niche.

What keywords Do You Want to Target?

Choosing the Right Keywords

Choosing the Right Keywords

Are keywords the end all and be all of SEO? No they are not. It is much more complicated than that. When optimizing pages on your website for search, keywords play an important role especially with Google’s algorithm. Keywords are a factor in ranking. Some keywords are easier to rank for while others could be next to impossible due to the competition. The trick is to find the medium between the two extremes to generate a steady flow of traffic to your website. After all what is the point of ranking on the first page of Google if nobody is searching for that search term. An SEO specialist would be able to tell you this information as it is readily available from Google. Although not 100% accurate Google does give very close averages for keyword searches on their network. It is a great benchmark to work from.

What is Your Website’s Authority?

SUPERCHARGE YOUR WEBSITE AUTHORITYThis is a question that most people don’t understand when it comes to SEO. Remember earlier I mentioned ranking with low to no traffic keywords was useless, well that is not entirely true. Consider you have a new website with absolutely no authority, well in this case building your authority with low traffic and competition keywords may be a good strategy to get your site authority up sooner rather than later. As your website authority goes up you have an easier time ranking for higher traffic and competition keywords. The basic premise is this; if website A has an authority of 22 and website B has an authority of 23 and all other things are equal then website B will always rank better than website A.

Make Sure Your Toronto SEO Expert Produces Unique Content

Unique content is a big thing for Google. So if you or your SEO consultant is producing content for your website you need to make sure that the content is unique. If not you run the risk of having your website penalized in ranking and authority. Your competition especially in the top ten spots are always producing unique content for the end user. If you want to be a contender this practice must be adhered to diligently.

SEO competition can be tough

Speaking of Competition…

Who is your competition? A good SEO specialist will be able to tell you who your competitors are but a great SEO specialist will be able to create a strategy to outrank your competition. SEO is a fierce and extremely competitive game. This is why large corporations pay out upwards of $50,000 to $100,000 dollars per month for SEO. There are a lot of small business owners out there who think they can do their own SEO, but they don’t realize how complex SEO has become in today’s market and to learn all that is there to learn would take them years. The question they should ask is do they have that kind of time and money to waste in learning. If your small business is not breaking even within the first year you could be in trouble, so consider always hiring a Toronto SEO expert to speed up the process allowing any business owner the chance to focus on what’s most important, running their business.

These are a few factors to consider when selecting who is going to manage your SEO or website for that matter. As a Toronto based SEO consultant and website manager I have helped several companies rank on the first page of Google, Yahoo and Bing. I’d love to give your company a complimentary assessment and see what can be done to increase your website’s authority and ranking.

SEO seems to be such a confusing endeavor even for experts I’m not sure if it’s even worth the effort at times to attempt to rank your website. I’m sure for the big corporations with huge budgets it’s a fair trade off but what about the small business owner, how do you justify the money spent on hiring a Toronto SEO expert when the process is slow to begin with? I can appreciate the fact that an expert can surely speed up the process but really how much faster is the difference? Just wondering what your thoughts are on this. thanks and a very honest post, very refreshing!

Hey Mark thanks for your comments. To answer your questions I will tell you that in today’s SEO market, the do it yourself learning curve is approximately 3 years of trial and error, with the risk of getting yourself into deep waters for penalties from search engines. So if you are wondering how much faster it is to get ranked safely utilizing a professional SEO Specialist Vs. going at it on your own will yield you very little to no results with a very high risk to reward ratio. Can the small business owner afford SEO Services from a professional? Yes they can but they wouldn’t jump into a $2200 per month contract. They would start off slowly and grow their online presence along with their online marketing budget.
thanks again.

I think the cost of not hiring a Toronto SEO Expert would be a lot more, not to mention the time spent on learning. I find that businesses do better with outsourcing this kind of work. Great post thanks.

Great Post, we’ve found that in our business the travel industry having a great online presence is essential and as a small business we certainly couldn’t do it ourselves.

I’m from New York, just wondering if your company can in fact work with US clients? I manage 2 companies and we would like to have a professional opinion on our sites, and perhaps outsource the management to you. thanks and great post.
